DA distiributes aid to famers in Zamboanga Sibugay

THE Department of Agriculture (DA) through its Adaptation and Mitigation Initiative in Agriculture (AMIA) has distributed Thursday, August 5, some P407,633 worth of farm inputs to three farmers association of farmers in Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay province.

Engineer Roger Bagaforo, DA-Research Division chief, said the recipients of the agriculture inputs are the Mali Little Baguio United Farmers Association, La Victoria Subanen Farmers Association, and the Mangawil Rice and Corn Farmers Asscoation.

Bagaforo said they received mud boat, water pump, knapsack sprayer, power sprayer, and fertilizers.

“We, in the Department of Agriculture continue to deliver agri-assistance to sustain your livelihood and agricultural production. We hope that you will be more productive even in this time of crisis,” Bagaforo told the recipients.

Mayor Roselyn Silva of Imelda town has expressed gratitude to the DA and encouraged the beneficiaries to continue following the good agricultural practices in farming.

Present to show support during the turnover of the farms inputs were Imelda OIC-Municipal Agriculturist Jerry Joquiño, Mali Little Baguio Barangay Chairperson Rizalyn Caballero, DA–Field Operations Division Chief Reynaldo Campomanes, DA staff and the officers and members of the farmers’ association.
