THE regional validating team of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Zamboanga Peninsula will conduct on Thursday, October 3, the final assessment on the City Government's compliance with the DILG Memorandum Circular 2019-121, mandating the reclamation of all roads from private use or clearing all roads of obstructions.

Isidro Cillo Jr., DILG Zamboanga City Office Operations Division chief, said the regional validating team is composed of the regional directors of agencies under the DILG.

They are the regional directors of DILG as chairperson, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Bureau of Fire Protection, National Police Commission and one representative each from the civil society organization and business sector.

Cillo said the team will validate or assess whether or not all roads here have already been cleared of any obstruction.

He added that the gauge of assessment is 100 points and "Zamboanga, being a highly urbanized city, must earn at least 70 points to pass the regional assessment."

Cillio pointed out that the municipalities will need at least 50 points to pass.

The city monitoring team has been activated in preparation for the regional validating team's arrival on Thursday, Cillo said. (SunStar Philippines)
