THE Department of Health (DOH)-Zamboanga Peninsula is using all available avenues to educate the public in protecting themselves against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infection.

Noting that there is an increasing number of social media platform users, the DOH-Zamboanga Peninsula launched Monday, October 18, 2021, a one-minute and 55-seconder online campaign advising the public to conscientiously practice the minimum public health standards.

The audio-visual campaign showed the public the proper way on how to use face mask and face shield, maintenance of personal hygiene and to stay at home as well as shy away from mass gathering to avoid Covid-19 infection.

“Always bear in mind and heart the minimum public health standards,” Dr. Joshua Brillantes, DOH-Zamboanga Peninsula director, said in the audio-visual information campaign.

“This is our weapon in the fight against Covid-19,” Brillantes added.

The audio-visual campaign put emphasis on the proper use of facemask and face shield as it has been observed that many individuals are not properly wearing the mask and shield.

Some use the facemask just to cover their mouth while the face shield is being used like a headband. (SunStar Zamboanga)
