Elderly woman nabbed for estafa

OPERATIVES of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, a sexagenarian in a law enforcement operation in Zamboanga del Norte.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Leo Laraga, CIDG-Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Field Unit chief, said arrested was Edna Arnado, 68, a resident of Dampalan village, Dapitan City.

Laraga said Arnado was arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of service of a warrant of arrest around 8 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte.

He said Arnado has a standing warrant of arrest for the crime of estafa with a P18,000 recommended bail dated November 4, 2022 issued by the court of Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.

Laraga said Arnado failed to pay the rental of a building she is renting from her cousin, who filed the case against the accused.

The accused, after her arrest, was taken to the CIDG-Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Field Unit office for documentation and proper disposition. (SunStar Zamboanga)
