Government employee falls in anti-drug sting

A GOVERNMENT worker was arrested in an anti-drug operation in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Tuesday, March 16.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspect as Filbert Maguindan, 36, a job-order employee of Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte.

Duco said the suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 8:50 p.m. Monday, March 15, in Purok 3 in Poblacion village, Baliguian.

He said seized from the suspect were some P29,240 worth of substance believed to be shabu, P500 marked money, and other illegal drug paraphernalia.

He said the suspect was detained at the Baliguian Municipal Police Station while a case for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against him. (SunStar Zamboanga)
