High-value suspect nabbed, P680,000 shabu seized

POLICEMEN have arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and seized some P680,000 worth of illegal drugs in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, an official said Saturday, June 18, 2022.

Colonel Richard Verceles, operations chief of the Area Police Command-Western Mindanao, identified the arrested suspect as Nasser Alih, listed as an HVI suspect.

Verceles said Alih was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 1:50 p.m. Friday, June 17, in Sitio Aticlan, Arena Blanco village, Zamboanga City.

Seized from Alih were some 100 grams of suspected shabu packed in two medium-sized heat-sealed plastic sachet worth P680,000, a smart phone, and a bundle of boodle money topped with one genuine P500 as marked money.

Verceles said Alih has been under surveillance before the launched of the anti-drug operation spearheaded by the Special Operations Unit-9.

He said Alih was detained pending the filing of formal charge against him for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (SunStar Zamboanga)
