New born baby found in ricefield

A NEW born baby girl was found still with umbilical cord at a ricefield in a village of Zamboanga City, Sunday, January 20.

Senior Inspector Shellamie Chang, Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) information officer, said the baby girl was found around 4:50 p.m. at Sitio Talungon in the village of San Roque.

Chang said the baby girl was brought to the Zamboanga City Medical Center for medical examination.

“She is now in stable condition,” Chang added.

Investigation is ongoing to to identify the biological mother of the baby. (SunStar Philippines)
