No. 1 wanted person wounded, nabbed

A NUMBER one most wanted person in a town of Zamboanga del Sur was wounded when arrested in a manhunt operation in that province, the police said Friday, February 8.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspect as Dhats Maguda, 38, the top 1 most wanted person in Buug, Zamboanga del Sur.

Galvez said Maguda was arrested around 10:30 a.m. Friday during a manhunt operation at Purok Malinawon in the village of Poblacion, Kumalarang.

She said Maguda has standing warrant of arrest for the crime of murder issued by the court of Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Galvez said the suspect was wounded as an arresting team member shot him in the left leg after the suspect resisted them.

She said the suspect was taken to the Kumalarang Rural Health Unit for medication and was temporarily detained at the police headquarters for proper disposition. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
