THE Installation Management Command (IMCom) of the Philippine Army has deactivated the Headquarters and Headquarters Service Battalion (HHSBn) and activated the 11th Installation Management Battalion (IMB) in the province of Sulu.

Brigadier General Domingo Gobway, commander of IMCom, officiated the joint deactivation of the HHSB and activation of the 11IMB at the headquarters of 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division (ID) at Camp General Teodulfo Bautista in Bus-Bus village, Jolo, Sulu on Monday, May 22.

“For more than four years since the activation of the Alakdan Division, the HHSBn greatly help through providing the best service to the command. It performs a critical role in the provision of essential service support to ensure that the command accomplished its mission,” Major General Ignatius Patrimonio, 11ID and Joint Task Force (JTF)-Sulu commander, said.

“Its deactivation will pave way for activation of the 11th Installation Management Battalion, with a wider and better support,” Patrimonio added.

Gobway officiated the unfurling of the unit color of the 11IMB and handed it over to Lieutenant Colonel Eddie Abolencia, the acting commander of the 11IMB.

It was followed by the ceremonial donning of the unit patch to the troops of the 11IMB.

“The activation of 11IMB creates a positive impact for the Philippine Army. It can be considered as a new beginning as part of the Army's mission in becoming a world-class, multi-mission ready, and cross-domain capable organization,” Gobway said.

“We will create a positive impact on the 11ID troopers as we will help in the management of military installations and reservations within the area and become the camp administrator of Camp Teodulfo Bautista,” Gobway added.

The IMCom was activated in March 2019 and operationalized on September 23, 2019.

The tasks of IMCom are to manage, administer, and develop all military reservations to unburden the operational and functional commands of the Army of the administrative liabilities of managing a camp. (SunStar Zamboanga)
