Police informant killed, another hurt in knife attack

A POLICE informant was killed while another was wounded in a knife attack the suspect of which was arrested by responding policemen in Zamboanga City, the police reported on Monday, July 31, 2023.

Police Major Sonny Boy Perez, Zamboanga City Police Station 6 (ZCPS6) chief, said the incident happened around 7:25 p.m. Sunday, July 30, at Sitio Placer in Tugbungan village, this city.

Perez identified the slain police informant as Jonard Jaime Alamillo, 40, who died instantaneously with multiple stab wounds.

Wounded was Alamillo’s friend, Gilbert Palemariano, 38. He was hospitalized for treatment.

Perez said that prior to the incident, Alamillo phoned and requested Palemariano to accompany in a buy-bust.

When Palemariano arrived at the location of Alamillo, Perez said that the suspect, Moises Gonzales suddenly appeared and without provocation stabbed Pelemariano.

He said Gonzales then turned his ire on Alamillo and repeatedly stabbed eventually killing the victim after Palemariano, though wounded, managed to escape.

He said Gonzales was arrested in a hot pursuit operation by responding policemen.

Perez said the motive of the incident was related to illegal drugs.

Perez said Gonzales and the weapon used by the suspect are now un the custody of ZCPS6.(SunStar Zamboanga)
