Student nabbed, P544,000 shabu seized

A FEMALE student was arrested while some P544,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, the police said Thursday, June 13.

Police Major Mark Anthony Karanain, Police Station 6 chief, identified the arrested suspect as Adamay Sipin alias Ajing, 19, a high school student.

Karanain said Sipin was arrested in a drug bust around 2:10 p.m. Wednesday in San Jose-Gusu village.

He said Sipin was caught in possession of some P544,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in 20 heat-sealed plastic sachets and a bundle of boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 as marked money.

The police chief said a case for violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is set to be filed against the suspect, who was detained. (SunStar Philippies)
