Truck, motorcycle collide head-on; 1 dies, 1 hurt

ONE person died while another was injured when a motorcycle and a truck collided head-on along the national highway in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Saturday, February 27, 2021.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said the incident happened around 3 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2021, in Purok African Daisy in Pangi village, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay’s capital town.

Duco identified the fatality as Bryan Limbaga Baguioro, 25, the motorcycle driver, and injured was his back rider, Clifford Rizallosa De Pedro, 17.

Duco said the truck driver, Richie Apduhan Hipaga, 34, was unscathed.

He said investigation showed that the truck and motorcycle collided while travelling on opposite direction after Baguioro lost control of the motorcycle’s steering bar.

He said hospital’s attending physician declared Baguioro dead on arrival while De Pedro was hospitalized. (SunStar Zamboanga)
