Village exec hurt in stabbing incident

A VILLAGE official was stabbed and wounded by a businessman in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Friday, January 29.

Police Captain Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, January 28, in Purok Nido in Gatas village, Pagadian City, the capital of Zamboanga del Sur province.

Duco identified the victim as Juny Bulando Subiza, 53, a councilor in Gatas village, Pagadian City.

Duco said that Subiza was allegedly stabbed by Chubocri Bulando Subiza, 46, an eatery owner.

He said it was not immediately known whether the victim and suspect are related, but the motive was believed to be personal grudge.

He said the victim was rushed to the hospital, while the suspect fled after the incident. (SunStar Zambanga)
