THE Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) in coordination with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) facilitated the conduct of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Step 2 registration Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Camp Don Basilio Navarro, home of the Westmincom headquarters in Zamboanga City.

Newly promoted Lieutenant General Alfredo Rosario, Jr., Westmincom chief, said Saturday, December 4, 2021, that the registration was held to accommodate all military and civilian personnel of the command, and civilians residing within Camp Navarro.

Rosario said a total of 239 registrants completed the PhilSys Step 2 registration the entire day Thursday, December 2.

“My sincerest gratitude to the Philippine Statistics Authority IX for initiating the conduct of this activity here in Westmincom,” Rosario said.

“It is a better way to be registered without thinking of the risk to get infected with the coronavirus,” he added.

He said health protocols were strictly observed during the registration to ensure the safety of the registrants and registration staff.

The National ID System registration is in compliance with Republic Act (RA) No. 11055, otherwise known as the Philippine Identification System Act which aims to establish a single national identification system for all citizens and resident aliens of the Republic of the Philippines.
