Zamboanga village seeks to revive image of old river

FIRST District Representative Celso Lobregat on Wednesday, September 12, joined the constituents of Zone 2 village in the conduct of activities that seek to revive the image of the historic Sucabon River.

Among the lined up activities is the “Golpe-Golpe na Rio del Zone 2,” which is a fun-filled blindfolded exhibition boxing match, which Lobregat witnessed.

The activities were held in the Sucabon River where the residents and visitors enjoyed watching.

Zone 2 Village Chief Nonito Arañas said the activities seek to revive the good image of the river, which has served as water source in the early 19th century.

“I would like to thank the barangay officials of Zone 2 headed by Chairman Nonito Arañas and the constituents as well for inviting me to witness their activities in the river of Sucabon, indeed, mas alegre na (it’s more fun in) Barangay Zone 2,” Lobregat said.

Arañas also thanked the lawmaker for his untiring support in realizing the activities and projects of their village.
