THE Zamboanga Sports and Fitness Program for City Government employees will reel off on Thursday, April 12.

Dr. Cecile Atilano, City Sports Development Office chief, said the opening ceremonies will start at 2 p.m. at the Vitaliano Agan Coliseum in Tetuan, the highlight of which will be the hiphop and ballroom dance competitions.

Organized by the City Sports Division, the activity is in line with Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) directive for all heads of constitutional bodies, departments, bureaus and agencies of national government, local government units, state colleges and universities and government-owned and controlled corporations with original charters reiterating the physical fitness program “Great Filipino Workout”.

The CSC program requires all agencies to adopt “The Great Filipino Workout” as an integral part of the National Physical Fitness and Sports Development Program for government personnel.

Atilano said the activity will cover different sports events such as badminton, table tennis, bowling, swimming, basketball, dart, volleyball, athletics, futsal and softball and will be participated by all departments of the city.

The sports and fitness program is anchored on the theme “An Honest with Integrity and Physically Fit Personnel for a Productive City Government of Zamboanga.”

Atilano said the program will culminate in December, this year.
