5.2 magnitude quake hits Mindanao

A 5.2 magnitude earthquake rocked parts of Mindanao at 5:58 a.m. Thursday, a radio report said.

According to the report, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the epicenter of the quake was at 19 kilometers northeast of Isulan town, Sultan Kudarat.

The quake was felt at intensity four in Matan-ao, Davao del Sur; intensity three in Kidapawan City; in the towns of Tulunan, Pigcawayan and Matalam Cotabato Province; Malita Davao del Sur and Tacurong City.

Intensity two was also felt in Davao City, General Santos City, Makilala North Cotabato, Koronadal, Cotabato and Digos City.

The quake was tectonic in origin.

No damage was reported in the incident. (Sunnex)
