THE City Government of Bago has bagged some of the major awards during the first virtual Information Officers' Year End Conference and Awards 2020 by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) - Western Visayas recently.

The Bago City Public Affairs and Information Office won the Best Performing Information Office in the region.

The office manages The Citybridge (Bago City Newsletter) fanpage of the city government.

Its information officer, Ace Balboa, also bagged the Best Performing Information Officer.

Balboa, in his Facebook post, thanked the PIA for recognizing their "humble office as one of the Best Performing Information Offices in the region and the only awardee in Negros Occidental."

"This award is for my staff. Thank you for your commitment, dedication and passion," he added.

PIA-Western Visayas, in a statement earlier, said the recipients for best publication award were selected from all national government agencies and local government units in the region.

These were judged based on relevance of content, technical quality, editorial quality, mechanics and overall appearance.

"The agency has recognized the need for valuing and recognizing the role of print publications as well as the staff involved in the production, documentation of the programs and activities including the milestones of agencies," PIA-Western Visayas Head Jemin Guillermo said.
