Councilor, son killed in Iloilo

MANILA -- A barangay councilor and his son were shot dead in Barangay Datagan, Calinog in Iloilo days before the Barangay and Sanguniang Kabataan Election.

The victims were identified as Rolando Lopines, 55, and his son Ronjie.

The two were on their way home when they were shot by unidentified suspects with the use of unknown caliber of firearm last Wednesday evening.

Lopines sustained gunshot wounds on different parts of the body that caused his death.

As of this posting Thursday, the Philippine National Police in Iloilo is on hot pursuit for the possible arrest of the suspects. (Glaiza Jarloc)
