A MAN died while five others were injured in separate stabbing incidents in La Carlota City Monday, April 30.

Police identified the fatality as Winnie Sarona, 37, a resident of Bago City.

Injured were John Paul Baleña, 19, of Barangay Calumanggan, Bago City; Ray Araneta, 18, of Barangay 3, La Carlota City and the three minors.

Investigation showed that Sarona with his companion Baleña and the 15-year-old boy were walking along Yunque Street towards their temporary fruit stand when they saw four unidentified persons standing in the area.

When Sarona greeted them, the suspects attacked them using a broken bottle of beer and fled, the police said.

The victims sustained multiple wounds and were rushed to the Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial District Hospital where Sarona was declared dead on arrival.

Baleña and the minor were transferred to Corazon Locin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City.

The police are still conducting an investigation on the accident.

An hour after, Araneta and his two companions, both minors, also sustained multiple wounds when Roger Canilas attacked them with a gaffing knife at the public plaza.

Investigation showed there was a heated argument between the group Canilas and Arenta. Canilas took the gaffing knife and attacked the victims.

The victims were rushed to the Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial District Hospital while Canilas was arrested by authorities.
