Negros Oriental village chief killed, 2 others injured

A CHIEF of San Pedro village in Sta. Catalina, Negros Oriental died, while two women were injured after three unidentified armed men shot them inside the barangay hall Thursday morning, April 11.

Killed was Samuel Ragay, acting village chief of San Pedro.

Wounded were Lorna Vingcoy and Nenfa Herosa, barangay treasurer.

Police investigation showed that the victims were inside the hall when the assailants suddenly entered the vicinity at 10 a.m. and told everyone to drop on the ground.

Then the assailants allegedly shot Ragay several times, and fled.

The two other victims were hit by stray bullets and were rushed to a hospital. Ragay succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
