Negros vice governor urges result of Animal Hub probe should be made public

NEGROS Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the result of the investigation on the controversial Animal Hub should be revealed to the public.

"It should be the governor's right to make it public or not. I will understand the sentiments of the public," Lacson said.

Lacson said that personally, he wants the investigation report to be released to the public.

He added that as provincial government officials, he and the members of the Municipal Council will ask for a copy.

Lacson made the reaction after Lawyer Mary Ann Lamis of the Provincial Legal Office revealed that they have already completed the investigation and that they are submitting the report to the governor.

She also refused to give the details of the report, saying it would be up to the governor to decide on what to do with it.

Moreover, Lacson said he does not see any reason for the council to conduct their own investigation.

"For now, I do not see any reason. For the fact that the governor already ordered an investigation that is enough. The public wants to know what is the result,” he said.

As for the P10 million budget allocated for the controversial project, he said: “I believe it is still intact.”

The Bids and Awards Committee chaired by Lamis has already decided not to go on with the bidding of the project after the controversy on the Animal Hub came out.
