Over P19-K shabu seized in Barangay 16

AN ESTIMATED P19, 120 worth of shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride was seized in a drug bust by operatives of Police Station 1 at Purok Tulihaw, Barangay 16, Bacolod City Saturday.

The operation also led to the arrest of Alfonso Lizares, 26, of Purok Kingfisher A, Barangay 16.

Police Major Jovil Sedel, chief of Police Station 1, said the suspect was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to police undercover around 7:30 p.m.

Police recovered from Lizares’ possession 4 sachets of shabu weighing 2.39 grams, the P200 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

Sedel said the suspect was under surveillance for almost a month before his arrest.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 1 and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, a 41-year-old man charged with frustrated murder was arrested by operatives of Police Station 7 at Bangga Consuelo, Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City yesterday morning.

Police identified the suspect as Ian Fermiza, of Barangay Vista Alegre.

Fermiza was arrested by virtue of arrest warrant for the crime of frustrated murder issued by Judge Phoebe Gargantiel-Balbin of Regional Trial Court Branch 45, Bacolod City.

The suspect is detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 7 for failure to post his bail of P200,000 for his temporary liberty.
