Ravena out from Baciwa board

ONE of Bacolod City Water District (Baciwa) board of directors, Eduardo Ravena, is no longer a member of the board effective July 1, 2020.

This was confirmed by Lawyer Juliana Carbon, general manager of Baciwa, after she was informed by the Baciwa board that Ravena was already out as a member.

“It’s board’s matter because we’re only informed that he’s already out as board of the director and I’ve no idea why he was out as a member of the board. We were also saddened by the absence of Director Ravena,” she said.

She added Ravena has a big contribution to the water district and they learned a lot from him on the ideas about government accounting and he’s very supportive to the water district.

Ravena was appointed as one of the board of directors of Baciwa in January 2019. He’s representing the professional sector.

In March, former mayor Monico Puentevella questioned the appointment of Ravena after he was found guilty of grave misconduct complaint by the Office of the Ombudsman.

Puentevella earlier said that on October 22, 2018, Ombudsman Samuel Martires approved the decision that Ravena was guilty of grave misconduct complaint and meted the penalty of dismissal from service with the cancellation of eligibility, forfeiture of retirement benefits, perpetual disqualification from holding public office and bar from taking civil service examinations.

Meanwhile, Ravena could not be reached for comment as of this writing.
