THE San Carlos City Public Employment Service Office (Peso) helped in repatriating the remains of overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Dennis C. Facundo, 47, whose body arrived on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at So. Haguimitan, Barangay Palampas, San Carlos City.

Erel Lim, Peso in-charge, said this is their first case to facilitate the return of an OFW remains.

Lim said the wife of Facundo, Elisa, visited their office on September 1, seeking help for the return of the remains of her husband who died of cardiac arrest in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on August 28.

He said they contacted Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Case Officer Rizza Joy Moldes, the Department of Foreign Affairs and OFW Federation in Bacolod City for immediate action while their office prepared the documentary requirements needed as well as help the family in preparing documents for the processing of claims.

Lim also said Barangay Palampas also helped in transporting the remains of Facundo from Silay Airport to San Carlos City.

Facundo was employed in an IT office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for 16 years. He reportedly succumbed to cardiac arrest after playing basketball. His remains will be buried on November 20. (PR)
