Victorias City braces for ‘Tisoy’

VICTORIAS City Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca spearheads the Emergency Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Meeting with the City officials, department heads, PNP Victorias, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, DepEd, Philippine Coast Guard, Punong Barangays and representatives, national agencies heads and stakeholders.

Mayor Palanca called for a meeting to prepare necessary preventive measures and closely monitor weather updates on Typhoon Tisoy.

As of press time, Victorias is under tropical cyclone warning number 1 and classes for nursery to high school for both public and private institutions were suspended from December 2 and extended until Tuesday, December 3.

Preparations include weather updates, situational reports in various areas in all barangays of the city and pre-emptive evacuation plans of the disaster committees.

Close agency coordination is being observed to ensure the safety of all Victoriahanons. (PR)
