THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has not recorded any crime incident related to the celebration of Bacolaodiat Festival at the Bacolod Government Center (BGC) from February 1 to 4.

Chief Inspector Ariel Pico, public information officer of BCPO, said there were minor traffic accidents recorded but all were settled.

The celebration of the four-day festival was generally peaceful, he added.

This year's venue for the festivity was only at the BGC, unlike in the previous years wherein the Lacson Street served as another venue for the occasion.

Last year, crimes during the festivity reduced by 14.29 percent. This year they reached their target with “zero major incident.”

Pico said police presence helped in the deterrence of crimes.

The deployment of other augmentation forces and volunteers also contributed to the enhanced security measures in the whole duration of the festivity, he added.

Meanwhile, the 200 augmentation personnel from Police Regional Office (PRO)- Western Visayas already returned to their respective units in Iloilo City after the culmination of the festivity on Tuesday, February 5. (GYM)
