Cordillera police back Gamboa as PNP chief

Jonathan Llanes

THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Cordillera has welcomed the assumption of Police Lieutenant General Archie Gamboa as chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Police Brigadier General Israel Ephraim Dickson, PRO director, said changes in command is a normal undertaking in the police organization in filling vacant positions in the PNP.

"Our leaders of the PNP, whoever they may be and in the case of General Gamboa, who was OIC at that time, have already performed as our head and have received our continued support and allegiance as members of the police organization," Dickson said.

President Rodrigo Duterte named Gamboa on Friday, January 15, as the new PNP chief.

"General Gamboa is a very competent and deserving PNP Chief because he was my boss when he was the chief of the directorial staff at Camp Crame," Dickson added.

Dickson said they are also expecting changes in the regional police.
