384 Caraga cops deployed for BOL plebiscite

THE Police Regional Office (PRO) in Caraga region deployed 384-strong police personnel in Lanao del Norte to secure the second Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) plebiscite on February 6, 2019.

A total of 384 personnel from Mobile Forces of PRO-Caraga, composed of five police commissioned police officers and 372 non-commissioned officers were deployed in different parts of Lanao del Norte, Chief Superintendent Gilberto DC Cruz, PRO-Caraga director said.

Most of the troops will secure polling centers, others will be on standby as quick reaction teams and the rest will form as personnel at the Command Post of PRO13.

A total of 20,000 police and military personnel were deployed in Lanao to secure the BOL plebiscite.

The 39 barangays in the town of Aleosan, Carmen, Kabacan, Pigkawayan and Pikit in North Cotabato and towns of Baloi, Munia, Nunungan, Pantar, Tagoloan and Tangkal in Lanao del Norte voted yesterday whether they want to be part of the new Bangsamoro Autonomous region or not.

The estimated results of the 2nd referendum is expected to be released four days after the plebiscite.
