‘Pom fake’ tag hurts La Viña

PJ Orias

THE camp of mayoralty candidate Pompee La Viña is saddened over “pom fake” tag, a play of two words referring to La Viña’s name and the word “fake.”

Nicole Managbanag, La Viña’s media officer, said their mayoralty bet is not fake, and is not a fake news maker.

“Dili kinahanglan maghimo og fake news si La Viña kay kun atong ma- obserbahan ug madunggan nga vocal kaayo siya atubangan mismo ni Moreno ug sa katawhan sa Cagayan de Oro. (La Viña does not need to create fake news, as we can observe he is very vocal in front of Moreno and the people).”

“They are always insinuating that La Viña is the king of fake news, but I don’t think he would make such baseless issues. I never heard a lie coming from him because he always has documents to support his claims,” Managbanag said.

“He just wanted the people to wake up and see the anomalies happening in the city and that corruption is not right,” Managbanag added.

Allies of Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno and officials of City Hall earlier blasted La Viña for making false claims in his campaign.
