Romualdo: Camiguingnons ‘scammed’

POWER consumers in Camiguin are facing an impending P4-power rate increase by July making residents pay the most expensive electricity in the country at P20 per kilowatt-hour (kwh).

An emotional Camiguin Representative Xavier Jesus Romualdo appealed to Camiguingnons on Sunday night, June 24, during the fiesta celebration of San Juan sa Hibok-Hibok, to stand and make their voices heard in the coming hearing on July 5 before the National Electrification Administration (NEA).

"Ang ako mang gung gibati kay mura ko ug gi-scam, gi-scam ko ni Camelco (Camiguin Electric Cooperative), gi-scam ko ni Ebcas (Camelco General Manager Adrian Ebcas). Kitang tanan sa Camiguin gi-scam nila. Bug-at bug-at kaayo, (What I feel now is I was scammed, I was scammed by Camelco, I was scammed by Ebcas. They scammed all of us here in Camiguin. I feel so heavy about this), Romualdo said in a speech during the fiesta celebration.
