Alwen Saliring

THE teacher who survived a gun attack in Valencia City, Bukidnon has requested authorities for security, a police official said Wednesday, October 23.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Surki Serenas, chief of the Valencia City Police Office, said policemen will provide security and privacy as requested by teacher Zhydee Cabanelez.

Cabanelez was recovering from multiple gunshot wounds after unidentified gunmen shot her inside the classroom in Dalit Elementary School, Valencia City, on October 15.

Security forces will deploy men in the school to provide further security.

Investigators have identified seven persons of interest while sworn statements from witnesses are being worked out.

Police said Cabanelez has already denied membership of the Alliance of Concerned Teachers after the latter claimed the teacher is one of their members.
