Espina: Revisiting Plantation Bay

Mila C. Espina

I had so many beautiful memories of Plantation Bay. The resort has its own intricate essence, the sea, lagoon and greens, a beautiful and refreshing respite from hectic city life.

Decades ago, I had the privilege of conducting a series of seminars in English usage, social graces and public speaking. Then, manager, Efren Belarmino thought, these courses will be helpful to the management and staff.

I lost track of the resort because of my Speechcom and USJ-R courses. Then the pandemic came.

I found in my documents an unused gift certificate given by Efren. You know, in all my events in the American Chamber and the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, specifically in the tourism events, Efren always showcased the Plantation Bay.

I thought of revisiting Plantation Bay and called Efren to request if I could still use my GC for my family. He is now retired but facilitated our visit where my family met the new management.

Recovering from the Typhoon Odette, the resort has slowly recovered, rooms and many other facilities restored.

The unique ambiance of the rooms, swimming areas, dining facilities and lobby is intact.

I am glad the Plantation Bay is back. It holds a special spot in my heart.
