Through tutorial program, students learn entrepreneurship

“AFTER graduating Grade 10, I want to continue and eventually finish my studies. I also intend to help my mother in her biko business,” says Hadjie.

Hadjie is a graduating junior public high school student of Barangay Luz National High School and is one of the 40 tutees of the KA•T•ON Barangay Junior Public High School Tutorial Program with Entrepreneurship Exposure.

In KA•T•ON’s Entrepreneurship Exposure Program, its supplemental program, beneficiaries like Hadjie are taught the values needed in an entrepreneur such as creativity, passion, flexibility, communication, and accountability.

Its second set of modules teaches beneficiaries market research, purchasing, production, marketing, and basic accounting. All these are done through games and activities that make learning fun and interactive for the students.

“The Entrepreneurship Exposure Program is really helpful. I am able to apply the lessons I learned here when I help my mom,” adds Hadjie.

More than teaching its beneficiaries practical business lessons, the Entrepreneurship Exposure Program is primarily intended to divert the beneficiaries from online gaming which is, in reality, online gambling.

The Entrepreneurship Exposure Program runs four times a week.

It is designed to comprehensively address the alarming 57-percent dropout rate nationwide by motivating students to #stayinschool.

The program is powered by Barangay IMPACT Visayas Management and Support Services Corp.
