RESIDENTS and vehicles with a heavy load can pass through Barangay Guindaruhan in the southern of town of Minglanilla without qualms.

The Provincial Government, led by incoming vice governor and outgoing Gov. Hilario Davide III, turned over a P6.2-million bridge to the barangay last Thursday, June 6, 2019.

In a June 7 report published on the Provincial Government’s website, Davide said the bridge was requested by Barangay Captain Leonardo Mañacap.

Joint effort

“Naa gihapon ko nga andam motabang ninyo (I will still be here ready to help you),” Davide told the attendees of the turnover ceremony.

The 30-meter bridge replaced the old one made of wood, which only allowed light vehicles to pass through. It connects the barangay road to the provincial road leading to the main highway.

According to Provincial Engineer Hector Jamora, the project is a joint effort of the Capitol, JLR Construction and Aggregates Inc. and the barangay.

The Province provided the funds for the project, while the barangay constructed the bridge’s approach.

JLR Construction, for its part, provided P310,000 worth of aggregate materials for the bridge’s construction.

Tuanson Construction implemented the project. (RTF)
