ONLY 17,400 of the 105,452 households served by Cebu III Electric Cooperative (Cebeco 3) still had no power supply as of 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022.

The number of households that are still waiting for the restoration of their electricity constitutes 16.5 percent of the power distributor’s total active household connections.

In its report, Cebeco 3 said it had restored power supply to 83.5 percent or 88,052 households as of 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 25.

Cebeco 3 distributes electricity to Toledo City (38 barangays) and municipalities of Pinamungajan (26), Aloguinsan (15), Balamban (28) and Asturias (27) on the western side of Cebu.

The power distributor also serves areas outside its franchise area—11 mountain barangays in Cebu City, one of the local government units that is under the franchise area of Visayan Electric Company.

The areas served by Cebeco 3 were badly affected by Typhoon Odette (Rai) on Thursday evening, December 16, 2021. The typhoon, the strongest to hit the Philippines last year, toppled power lines and poles, causing a blackout. (KAL)
