THE Bohol Hennan Resort Inc. assured Tuesday, November 27, that it will comply and 'rectify whatever oversight it may have committed' with the tax violations cited by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

The BIR in Central Visayas ordered the closure of the 400-room Bohol Hennan Resort for under-declaring its income.

Hennan, in a statement, said it intends to cooperate with the BIR to correct any lapses.

It added that it has complied with its obligations, and made additional tax payments, for the purpose of lifting the closure order.

"It intends to continue extending its full cooperation with the BIR and endeavors to rectify whatever oversight that may have been committed as it is consistent with its commitment to be fully compliant with the country’s tax laws and regulations," the statement added.

The resort was ordered closed for failure, refusal and/or neglect of the taxpayer to comply with the requirements specified in the five-day VAT Compliance Notice.

The order was signed by Arnel Guballa, the deputy commissioner of the Operations Group. (MCB)
