UP Cebu recognizes outstanding alumni

THE outstanding alumni of the University of the Philippines (UP) received their Oblation statuettes from the University of the Philippines Alumni Association Cebu Chapter (UPAACC) during the 2018 Tatak UP awards ceremonies held recently at the Casino Español de Cebu.

The awardees were Ma. Teresa Canton for education; Anita Estrera-Baleda for social change, advocacy and women empowerment; lawyer Rose Lisa Eisma-Osorio for environmental conservation; Haidee Emmie Palapar for communication and culture; and Cris Evert Lato-Ruffolo for social change, advocacy and community empowerment.

Also awarded were architect Michael Torres for art, design and corporate social responsibility; Jose Eleazar Bersales for culture and heritage conservation; lawyer Carlo Pontico Fortuna for law, public service and governance; Raymund Fernandez for art, design and culture; and lawyer Ian Anthony Sapayan for social change, advocacy and community empowerment.

The awardees were joined by UP Cebu Chancellor Liza D. Corro and UPAACC president Ria Lidia Espina.

The Tatak UP recognition is given to graduates of UP whose endeavors in their respective fields have significantly benefited the people and the communities that they serve.
