Tell it to SunStar: Cowards

Sunnexdesk

I COULD not, for the life of me, fathom how some people can actually explain or defend the Philippines’ withdrawal from the International Criminal Court (ICC). The ICC is a mechanism of check and balance. It holds accountable heads of states. I do not see the point at all of removing an institution from the scheme of things when it’s supposed to protect citizens from any crime against humanity that a government may perpetrate against its citizens.

Good thing though that the ICC prosecutor recently said that examination of crimes against humanity committed in the Philippines will continue despite its withdrawal from the court.

The act of the Duterte administration of withdrawing from the court last Sunday is a ritual in cowardice. This is one scared President with wet pants.(Aldrin Badoy of Talisay City)
