Dela Torre loses in first round in Japan

HARMONITO dela Torre’s ring return in the international stage was foiled after getting knocked out by unbeaten Japanese Suichiro Yoshino in the opening round of their regional title fight for the vacant Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation and World Boxing Organization Asia-Pacific lightweight belts on Oct. 10, 2019 in Tokyo, Japan.

Yoshino dropped Dela Torre, who had returned from a 10-month hiatus, in 2:10 of the first round.

Dela Torre last saw action on Dec. 22, 2018 and won a unanimous decision over Richard Betos.

The 25-year-old Dela Torre fell to 20-3 with 12 knockouts, while Yoshino stayed undefeated with 11-0 with nine knockouts. (EKA)
