Ladrada, Tesorio fall short overseas

FILIPINO pugs Lorenz Ladrada and Jestine Tesoro lose their respective fights last Saturday night overseas.

Ladrada, a former ALA boxer, was stopped by Aussie prospect Dana Coolwell in the fourth round at the Gold Coast Convention Centre in Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia.

Coolwell dropped Ladrada twice in the fourth round and forced referee John Watson to stop the bout in the 2:59 mark of the fourth round.

Ladrada dropped to 11-3-1 with three knockouts, while Coolwell returned to the winning column and improved to 8-2 with six knockouts.

Meanwhile, Tesoro lost to former amateur standout Kenji Fujita via a unanimous decision at the Korakuen Hall in Japan.

Japanese judges Akihiko Katsuragi and Michiaki Someya had identical 59-55 scores, Ghanaian judge Biney Martin scored it 60-55 all in favor of Fujita.

Tesoro fell to 6-4 with two knockouts, while Fujita is now 2-0 with a knockout.
