An accessory just for the one you love

ONE of the most interesting gifts one could give to someone is a personalized accessory for remembrance.

For the millennial and young moms today, a personalized cuff bracelet is becoming a trend.

Popular for its cuff bracelets in Davao City, Hello Amber opened in November 2018 and has been making a name online.

“I think this has become a trend now because every item is basically unique because some may be made several degrees higher. For others, the cuff is not something special but when personalized, it becomes meaningful accessory because the value is with the wearer,” Hello Amber owner Cel Panganiban said.

Because of Cel’s background in the information technology (IT) industry, she was once exposed to metal craft. There she learned the techniques in making personally-designed cuff bracelets.

While working day-time as an IT manager in Davao City, Cel started making cuff bracelets for her family and friends in 2017. When people saw her designs, they started ordering from her. This prompted her to register her business.

Hello Amber has no physical store yet but is actively getting orders through their Facebook page and Instagram account, @helloamber.ph.

Hello Amber also participates in some trade fairs or bazaars in the city where they get bulk of orders from different clients.

Aside from the cuff bracelets, they now offer personalized beaded bracelets, necklaces, guitar picks, and keychains. They also have pre-made bracelets and necklace available in different designs at reasonable prices.

While business is evidently growing and the brand is starting to be known in the market, Cel said there are still challenges that she is facing like juggling her time as a working mom and as a business start up.

“I think the challenge for all moms is prioritization. I learned that some things are meant to be given up and that I cannot do anything but I have to identify what is important to me and learn to use to technology to my advantage. Basically, one needs to use to the right tools,” she said.
