11yo boy found dead along riverbank after drowning

AN 11-year-old boy, who just got home from school, was found dead along the riverbanks of Matina Gravahan in Davao City after drowning on Monday morning, September 26.

According to the mother, her son was coming home from school but she did not expect that he would go to the river.

Police Major Rosario Aguilar, Ecoland Police Station chief, identified the victim as Jason Dawang Muda, a resident of Purok 1, Tondo, in Matina Gravahan.

According to Aguilar, the incident happened around 11 a.m. Muda was sitting on the bamboo raft watching other kids swim when he slipped and fell from his position. His body later floated up to the surface.

Rescuers found the victim's body at 2:05 p.m. Paramedics from Davao City Central 911 tried to revive him, but he was pronounced dead. With reports from KAMM Media Network
