Ralph Lawrence G. Llemit

ALL power lines in all areas affected by the heavy rain and strong winds on Tuesday evening, August 16 are now fully restored, the Davao Light and Power Company (Davao Light) announced on Thursday morning, August 18.

Davao Light issued the statement, after some areas of the city experienced power outages caused by the weather disturbance.

"We appreciate your patience and we thank you for bearing with us," the power utility of AboitizPower said.

Fermin Edillon, Davao Light Reputation Enhancement Manager, said in a radio interview on Thursday morning that some power lines were affected due to the strong wind, while other areas' power supply were impacted after a tree collapsed in its power lines.

Edillon, however, said there are other areas that had experienced no electricity, but these are already on the household levels.

With that, he encouraged their consumers to report to them if their household still experienced an outage for them to immediately respond.

According to the Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the city experienced moderate to heavy rains due to localized thunderstorms. RGL
