DSWD distributes cash card for 4Ps beneficiaries

IN THE midst of the crisis brought about by coronavirus disease (Covid-19), the Department of Social Welfare and Development Davao Region (DSWD-Davao) has started to distribute the cash card for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries starting yesterday, March 24, 2020.

During the virtual press conference of the Philippine Information Agency in Davao Region (PIA-Dava0), Merlinda Paragamac, division chief of DSWD-Davao’s Promotive Services said the cash card will be the government’s cash grant.

She added that the beneficiaries do not have to go to ATM terminals to withdraw the cash, instead they only need to wait for the municipality or city personnel tasked to facilitate for their cash grant.

Aside from that, Paragamac also clarified that they are only following the system in distributing the food packs in coordination with the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force led by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

The DSWD-Davao will start to distribute the relief goods on April 12, 2020 to give ample time for the local government units to prepare.

The DSWD-Davao already has a program to aid the families who are severely affected by Covid-19 through its Health Emergency program. (PIA-Davao)
