CLOSE to a million pesos worth of properties were razed by the dawn fire that hit two business establishments and a residential house along J.P. Laurel Avenue in Davao City.

Senior Fire Officer (SFO2) Ramil Gillado, chief of the Intelligence and Investigation Section of Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Davao Region, said Friday, December 14, that they received the alarm at around 5 a.m. Friday.

He said their investigation showed that the fire broke out in Nenez Foodhauz owned by a certain Rosario Parnada.

He said someone was frying when the cooking oil caught fire. The staff tried to douse the fire with water, but the blaze spread instead.

Gillado said they declared fire out at 6:40 a.m. No casualties were reported.

The fire destroyed two business establishments and one house.

Some adjacent structures were damaged.

BFP-Davao Region recorded a total of 20 fire incidents in Davao City so far this month. Most of the incidents were caused by electrical short circuit.
