Headless body identified

AUTHORITIES have already identified the decapitated body found floating at the river bank of Barangay Zone 1, Digos City while investigation is now ongoing to determine the perpetrators and their motive for doing the brutal crime.

Police Regional Office (PRO)-Davao Region spokesperson Police Chief Inspector Milgrace Driz said the body was discovered at 9:15 p.m. on August 24.

The body was later known to belong to George Fuentes, 30, a transient resident at Ravina Compound, Barangay Zone 1 in Digos City.

His missing head was discovered at the river side of Barangay Cogon about 300 meters away from where his body was sighted soon after his incomplete remains were found.

Police found the victim sustained multiple stab wounds.

Recovered from the scene were one ice pick, one bloody t-shirt, and one pair of slippers allegedly owned by the victim.

Police authorities are still conducting follow-up investigation for possible identification and arrest of the suspects.
