THE two-day annual Korean Film Festival highlights five historical and classic-themed Korean films opened at Cinema 6, SM Lanang Premier on Saturday, September 15.

“This year's Korean Film Festival is a representation of the thriving film industry and culture of Korea. The featured award-winning masterpieces are perfect examples of Korea's nationalism and creativity in storytelling, acting, and technological advancement," Engineer Jonathan Nick Santos, SM Lanang Premier mall manager, said in a text message.

"SM Lanang is a strong supporter of cultural film festivals. We are a partner of Korean Cultural Center’s promotion of cultural ties through films,” he added.

This year’s theme is Time Travel, underscoring Korea’s history.

Featured films are The Pirates; Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time; DONGJU: The Portrait of a Poet; Assasination; and Warriors of the Dawn.

The Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines brought the annual film festival to key cities in the Philippines including Davao City, Metro Manila, Iloilo City, and Cebu City.
