THE St. Paul's Hospital in Iloilo has been put on lockdown since Sunday, June 28, after six of its medical personnel tested positive for Sars-CoV-2, the virus that causes the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Lawyer Roy Villa, spokesperson of the regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF), confirmed this Sunday evening, saying no admission is allowed.

"All personnel inside are in strict quarantine... Certain hospital departments are temporarily closed -- OR (operating room), ER (emergency room), OPD (outpatient department)," he said.

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas also said in a Facebook post Sunday that the St. Paul's Hospital administration is currently coordinating with the RIATF and following all its protocols and decisions.

"Contact tracing is currently being done both by the hospital administration and the personnel of the City Health Office," he said.

"Let us all pray for the health and safety of all employees nurses and doctors of St. Paul's hospital. Let us never forget that our health workers have been helping in keeping all of us safe," Treñas said. (Leo Solinap/LMY/SunStar Philippines)
