'Chedeng' enters PAR Sunday afternoon

TROPICAL depression Chedeng has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Sunday afternoon, March 17 and was estimated at 950 kilometer East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), 'Chedeng' has a maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometer per hour (kph) near the center and gusts up to 65 kph.

The tropical depression is expected to affect Eastern Mindanao and Davao Region starting Monday, March 18.

Its trough, together with the enhanced Northeast Monsoon (Amihan), is likely to bring occasional rain showers and thunderstorms across Eastern Luzon, Eastern Bicol, Visayas, and Mindanao on Monday. (CLC/SunStar Philippines)
